Transportation and Infrastructure
Our firm has provided comprehensive advice on large infrastructure projects, such as the construction of highways, ports, dams, hospitals and prisons, whether clients are just one company or a member of a consortium comprised of other local members or foreign partners.
In each project we have participated from the start, and our experience includes highly complex tenders of public works concessions, municipal concessions, private tenders, as well as the subsequent acquisitions or transfers of interests in projects under construction or in operation. In all of these cases, our advice extends to all aspects of the different steps of a project, including project financing, regulatory matters, environmental and administrative law, tax, corporate and contractual matters, antitrust regulations, unfair competition, insolvency and related insurance, as well as specific regulatory aspects applicable to each particular project. We also represent project owners before the competent authorities.
In the transportation sector, our firm has provided both comprehensive and specific advice on laws and regulations applicable to major transnational airlines and shipping lines and important local inland carriers, including companies providing multimodal transport and logistics services. We provide counsel on the potential application of bilateral, regional or multilateral international treaties and on the application of both mandatory and supplemental provisions on carrier liability and available insurance. We also represent these companies before the competent authorities.
